Job Description:
Minimum educational
requirements must include a bachelor's degree in the biological sciences
from an accredited college or university, and at least one year of
non-academic experience in microbiology or mycology laboratory work.
Qualified persons must be skilled in mathematics and microscopy technology
and comfortable with performing reviews of microscope and statistical
analysis.
The QA Coordinator must be proficient at
multitasking and computer use with adequate knowledge of both Excel and
Word. Responsibilities also include the ability to manage several projects
under deadlines. The QA Coordinator serves as the deputy for the Laboratory
Technical Manager and will assist in the training of analysts for on-going
proficiency. Testing of analysts will be implemented monthly with records
and evaluations maintained by the QA Coordinator for management reviews. The
person in this position will be generating quarterly reports on Quality
Control issues and performing annual internal audits. The QA Coordinator is
responsible for a minimum daily review of 5% of all samples submitted to the
lab. This position also requires maintaining and managing the laboratory
stock fungal collection and the review of Standard Operating Procedures,
Logbooks, and Quality Assurance Manual. The QA Coordinator works closely
with the Laboratory Technical Manager and reports to the President.
